Senior Reporter/Editor - The World (Wgbh/Prx)Public Radio International (Pri) Oct 2012 - Jan 2022San Francisco Bay Area & Mexico CityAs a senior editor and reporter at The World, I was dedicated to strengthening our editorial mission to increase the impact of our journalism and make the show as relevant as possible to the public we serve. I championed fresh ways to tell stories and include underrepresented voices in fresh ways. As a core member of editorial discussions, I also strived to identify ways to reach new audiences and pilot new ways we can work with innovative partners, including podcasts such as Reveal from the Center for Investigative Reporting. As The World's lead immigration reporter and editor for nearly a decade, I have led the newsroom and its correspondents to think critically about the inclusive representation of voices across all beats to seeking out non-stereotypical and deeper forms of portraying communities of color worldwide. I share my expertise on immigration reporting, editing and working in challenging environments regularly at panels, conferences and other public speaking engagements. -
