Hi, I'm Monica! 👋🏽I'm dedicated to using and sharing my knowledge to advance precision medicine and help patients get access to individualized care. An analytical creative, I'm great at seeing possibilities, understanding complexities, and designing creative solutions. I love organizing and translating complex information in engaging and efficient ways that get people, to GET IT. My pharmacy education, along with my extensive research background, has allowed me to acquire both scientific and clinical knowledge in the areas of drug therapy, genomics, and pharmacogenomics, and given me an even deeper appreciation for the necessity of precision medicine.Some of my core strengths include: 🧬 Communication: In my roles as SI Leader and Rho Chi President, I was able to combine my passion of sharing knowledge with others, with my strength of communication. These roles allowed me to create and lead hundreds of effective review sessions for doctorate-level courses, contributing to the academic success of pharmacy students. 🧬 Collaboration: Holding positions in the 2 main entities providing academic resources to the School of Pharmacy, I collaborated with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and the Director of Student Success to develop and implement “Tutor Central”, designed to streamline the communication of tutor support services offered by Rho Chi and SI leaders, resulting in increased student utilization. 🧬 Research and Data Analysis: I have extensive research experience, analyzing clinical and scientific evidence, and producing insights in areas including PGx implementation and cost-savings, CPIC and traditional clinical guidelines, medical policy coverage and reimbursement for PGx testing, adverse drug events related to genetic variants, and more.
