The Barcelona Supercomputing Centre is the national supercomputing facility in Spain. It manages and operates the Marenostrum supercomputer (with 166.000 processors and a peak performance of 13,7 Petaflops). The centre also carries out R&D on Computer, Life and Earth sciences, together with applications in engineering. My mission was to create long-term value for the organization by promoting relationships with the industry, finding partners for collaborative projects, raising funding (national and European calls), and bringing the R&D results to the market. I have contributed to the creation of two spin-off companies, helping the entrepreneurs to validate the market of their solutions, develop the business plan, negotiate term sheets, and find acceleration programmes and investors.
