Monica Hanson joined BNP Paribas in 2013 and is currently the Head of Insurance Coverage, Americas. In addition to her responsibility for general Insurance client coverage, she also focuses on select asset management, agency and specialty finance clients, with a particular specialization in capital markets.Prior to joining BNP Paribas, Monica worked at Barclays where she was Head of Latin America Global Finance, responsible for overseeing the firm’s fixed income and equity capital markets origination efforts. Prior to that role, she served as Head of Barclays’ Americas Financial Institutions Debt Capital Markets Group, responsible for originating and structuring numerous capital markets financings for the firm’s agency, sovereign, and financial institutions clients who sought to access the US and European capital markets.From 2001 to 2008, Monica worked at Lehman Brothers covering Financial Institutions clients in a similar capacity, which also included structuring financings for the firm’s Latin American clients. From 1994 to 2001, she worked at J.P. Morgan where she was responsible for structuring and marketing bond offerings and syndicated loan facilities for a wide variety of Latin American companies.Alongside her role at BNP Paribas, Monica is an active member of BNPP’s Global Markets Americas Business Committee and the Women in Global Markets Board. She is also part of BNPP’s Talent Board and serves as a Career Facilitation Advisor. Monica was named to the YWCA-NYC Academy of Women Leaders Class of 2010.
