Profile bio

About Monica Laboskey

My work in operations, administration, legal, governance, management and leadership creates and maintains infrastructure for critical nonprofit and community serving organizations, supporting the important programmatic work of the frontline staff. I am passionate about serving the community, and about implementing and instilling a culture of inclusion, belonging and equity into the workplace. Efforts to serve those outside an organization are only enhanced by, and in-fact necessitate, an internal culture where each person is uplifted by the work environment, valued and resourced, and given opportunity to thrive personally and professionally. Prior to my current position, I was the Deputy Director of an appellate legal services nonprofit serving survivors of domestic violence with a mission to break the cycle of domestic violence. Before that, I was the Managing Attorney of a direct legal services nonprofit in the Bay Area focused on serving the AAPINH and Latinx communities primarily in the areas of housing, family, and immigration law. I spent the first ten-plus years of my career as a litigation attorney in private practice. I represented individuals, classes and corporations, and represented plaintiffs and defendants, in state and federal courts and before administrative agencies. I represented clients in the areas of employment, civil rights, consumer, personal injury, premises liability, products liability, medical malpractice, wrongful death, insurance defense, real estate, bad faith insurance, landlord/tenant, and contract law. I am admitted to practice before the Supreme Court of the United States, all Courts of the State of California, the United States District Court, Northern District and the United States District Court, Eastern District.

Listed skills include Litigation, Civil Litigation, Personal Injury, Mediation, and 16 others.
