BIOL 100L (Introductory Biology Lab for Non-Majors): Throughout the 2022-2023 school year, taught two 3 hour lab sections per week covering introductory biology topics. Throughout each semester, I created lecture slides, answered questions, held office hours, and graded lab reports, exams, and student presentations.BIOL 354 (Ecology and the Environment): During the fall semester of the 2023-2024 school year I taught two 1 hour discussion sections designed to teach upper class undergraduates about fundamental ecological concepts. Each week, I led discussions of foundational papers and walked students through the process of writing a scientific paper. I also graded discussion question assignments, scientific research papers, and student presentations.

I conducted research for my Master’s thesis in Marine Ecology at the San Diego State University Coastal & Marine Institute Laboratory. I built a custom seawater and holding tank system for my experiments. I then conducted a pilot experiment on the effects of low salinity on mussel heart rate and gaping activity. I presented the results of this experiment at the 2023 Western Society of Naturalists conference in Monterey, CA.
