Between 2014-2019, I built and led a distributed team of 15+ engineers on the architecture and technical development of our web-based products, such as our merchant dashboard, signup flow, ecommerce checkout, and marketing website. I also participated in the technical evaluation and due diligence for a number of acquisitions.I originally joined the company at sub-100 employees and as it grew to over 1,300 over the next 5 years, during a period of hypergrowth. Today the company is valued at $8.5B, has over 3,000 employees, and operates in over 35 markets.

Joined this research project to blend my academic experience with Latin and Ancient Greek, with my technical experience building user-facing software applications.I wrote frontend and backend for language learning application based on morphosyntactic data (e.g. parse trees and aligned texts), using Python and Javascript: Backbone.js, Django, Neo4j, Postgres, and deployment on remote machines with Fabric and Digital Ocean.

I spent over three and a half years at iPlant Collaborative (now Cyverse), an NSF-funded project that started with a $50M research grant.As a student developer, and then full-time staff member, I developed user interface for iPlant's Cloud Services platform, called Atmosphere, as part of the Core Services team. This product is used by scientists looking to run computationally intensive processes in the cloud, and on high performing machines such as those in the Texas Advanced Computing Center.Frontend was written in jQuery and Backbone.js, and included functionality for creating instances, images, and managing volumes. The backend was based on Eucalpytus, an open-source computer solution for building Amazon Web Services (AWS)-compatible private and hybrid cloud computing environments.
