I represent and counsel employers in various industries in a broad range of employment law issues, with a focus on wage and hour practices and class and collective action litigation arising under the Fair Labor Standards Act. My practice also included advising clients on employee handbook provisions and employment-related policies, and guiding clients on all aspects of the employer-employee relationship. I have also worked with Ogletree's KM (Knowledge Management) Department developing digital, multi-state content for the firm's Client Portal.

I represented mortgage lenders and servicers in complex consumer finance litigation on both the state and federal level, including briefing and oral argument before state and federal trial courts and courts of appeal. I also represented management in employment and contract litigation, and successfully defended an Ohio manufacturing company in a lawsuit brought by a former employee seeking substantial sales commissions following his discharge, prevailing before both the state trial court and the Ohio Eighth District Court of Appeals. (Geriak v. Arnco, Inc., 2012 Ohio 3820 (Ohio App. 8th Dist.)).

I was a key member of a litigation team that won summary judgment, subsequently affirmed by the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit, in an ERISA benefits class action brought by a group of former independent contractors of a Fortune 100 company. [MacLachlan v. ExxonMobil Corp., 350 F.3d 472 (5th Cir. 2003)].
