I was born and raised in the Dominican Republic in a Taiwanese-Dominican family. My cultural background is the main reason why today I have a passion for social issues and diversity, something I like to incorporate in my film and video projects. Growing up, I noticed the lack of access to education in our culture. Even worse, there's virtually 0 ways for people to learn about issues such as racism, sexism, and social issues overall. For that reason, I decided to use my skills in Multimedia Production, Social Media, Public Speaking, Management, and Leadership in order to create content that not only entertains, but also, educates through humor. I do this through the educational project "LaMenteOpen" on Instagram and Tiktok. Growing up in the DR I never imagined I'd be able to accomplish half of the things I have. Here's 5 fun facts that I'm extremely proud of:1) Through humorous social criticism, I've been able to grow my digital platform. Today my community has 35k followers on Tiktok and almost 10k on Instagram. A couple of my videos talking about colonization, domestic abuse and dominican activism have gone viral and I've reached the 1m views mark! I had about $50k worth of student loans wiped out! We're working hard to keep growing the ballroom/vogue scene in my country!
