Oversee the day-to-day operations of running this technology company aimed at facilitating and fast tracking access to funds for African state-owned and privately held energy companies.

• Identify and promote the development of renewable energy and energy efficiency projects by preparing project proposals to mobilize support from development partners, donor agencies and other stakeholders;• Maintain and strengthen institutional relationships with development partners and other stakeholders;• Coordinate the preparation of project technical reports for partners and key stakeholders;• Provide transaction advisory services and mentorship to public and private developers;• Review and recommend investment promotion projects presented to ECREEE for funding to the Executive Director and provide technical input to projects funded by ECREEE throughout the project cycle• Provide necessary technical backstopping to ECOWAS member states, as/when requested in the preparation of documents for national or international procurement processes;• Support the preparation of technical inputs for the ECREEE Business Plan, annual Work Plans and Status Reports with the focus of strengthening the position of nvestment promotion in the energy sector of West Africa;• In coordination with the Capacity Building and Knowledge Management Units of ECREEE, support the development of on-the-job training for Energy Ministries, Utilities and Regulatory Agencies on the design, implementation, oversight and operation of RE, EE and Energy Access projects as relates to investment promotion. Support the preparation of training materials, training programmes and awareness raising materials for stakeholders (including the general population, academia, NGOs and CSOs, etc.);• Support the promotion of investments in projects within the ECOWAS Energy Access, RE and EE pipeline by organizing workshops, conferences and directly exposing these opportunities to potential investors and financiers

-Develop and coordinate relevant programme activities towards achieving expected results in accordance with the Programme Document. -Assume primary responsibility for daily management of relevant parts of the programme - both organizational and substantive matters – budgeting, planning and general monitoring of the programme in close collaboration with the ECREEE Renewable Energy and Energy Efficiency Programme Coordinators.-Develop information, communication and education (IEC) materials and ensure dissemination of information and knowledge management for effective programme implementation.-Provide oversight to the management of the ECOW-GEN online interactive platform and ensure that the objectives of the site are effectively met. -Prepare terms of reference for national and international consultants and subcontractors.-Prepare and launch calls for proposals and expression of interest for projects to be supported through the ECOW-GEN grant facilities; evaluate and select technically and commercially sound projects for grant support; monitor projects for their effective implementation. -Monitor and guide the work of consultants and subcontractors for compliance with the agreed work plan.-Support development and implementation of self-monitoring, quality assurance and independent evaluation systems, including facilitated feedback from Member States and international partners, as a basis to sharpen and improve the objectives, strategy and operations of ECOW-GEN.-Monitor the expenditures, commitments and balance of funds in line with the annual work plan and reporting requirements;-Draft quarterly program progress reports, as well as any other reports requested by the Executive Director.-Ensure the effective operation of the ECOW-GEN Technical Advisory Group and the Steering Committee.-Build new partnerships with relevant institutions and identify funding opportunities for running the programme’s activities.

• Manage the day-to-day operation of activities under the SPWA program, monitor and evaluate the progress and impact of the GEF SPWA program in cooperation with the UNIDO coordinator;• Coordinate regular communication and information dissemination among the participating countries, agencies, project implementers, and development partners;• Contribute to the organization of regional workshops and ministerial level meetings; • Contribute to the GEF-SPWA Annual Reports and Annual Action Plans to monitor the progress made and steps to be taken towards meeting the objectives of the program;• Work with the ECREEE staff and the National Focal Institutions to maintain the web-based knowledge data base of the ECOWREX, co-funded under the GEF-SPWA; • Assist in the implementation of other ECREEE programs as assigned by the Executive Director (e.g. ECOWAS Renewable Energy Facility, the Small Scale Hydro Power Program)• Coordinate, develop, and facilitate training materials for capacity building of various stakeholders to create awareness and sensitize them on renewable energy potentials and strategies for promoting their use, as well as on project implementation; • Contribute towards publications on good practice guidelines based on review of past projects and emerging lessons on best practices; • Maintain and contribute to the ECREEE contact network in the West African region (e.g. focal points, private sector) and internationally; contribute to the technical and country specific knowledge base of ECREEE; • Ensure quality assurance throughout the project cycle by applying different appraisal tools (e.g. CBA, CEA and other appraisal tools); • Actively participate in renewable energy discussions in the region through compiling policy brief on requests, and publishing books and opinion articles in renowned journals; draw connections to the international climate change mitigation and adaptation debate;

• Assist in the development of activities in the field of renewable energy and energy efficiency under the SEEA-WA project.• Assist in the preparation of training materials and training programmes for various stakeholders;• Assist in the creation of awareness on renewable energy and energy efficiency potentials, strategies, project implementation etc;• Assist in the identification and preparation of feasibility studies (business plans) for renewable energy and energy efficiency projects;• Assist in the mobilisation and follow-up of support for SEEA-WA activities with partners and other stakeholders;• Participate in renewable energy and energy efficiency discussions in the region through compiling policy briefs on request, assist in the development and implementation of renewable energy policies by member states and publishing of articles in renowned journals.• Assist in the preparation and drafting of project documents and reports, presentations and briefings to senior officials on energy efficiency potentials in the West African sub-region;• Participate in the organisation and hosting of roundtables, workshops, lectures, and seminars on various aspects of SEEA-WA’s activities.

• Worked under the supervision of the Energy Efficiency expert in the Centre to conduct policy research on energy efficiency guidelines for contribution towards the development of the ECOWAS Regional White Paper on Energy Efficiency.• Worked with the Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy team in carrying out stocktaking of ECOWAS member state status on renewable energy and energy efficiency programme implementations. • Participated in capacity building events. One of which was on Geographic Information System (GIS) training for renewable energy resource mapping in ECOWAS member states organized by the International Centre for Science and High Technology (ICS), United Nations Industrial Development Organization (UNIDO).
