A video editor is someone who assembles random raw footage into a single coherent piece. It's a simple description but any video editor will tell you there's a lot more to it. We're storytellers, magicians, we build the vision and world a director creates. And that's me. I've been an editor professionally for the past 4 years and a passionate enthusiast for 15. 8 of those years were spent trying to decide what I wanted to do with my life; not realizing I had already found it. During the last 4 years I've created hundreds of videos for marketing purposes, including: nationally broadcast television commercials, google ads, and across a variety of social media platforms. I've enjoyed discovering what the audience wants to see and creating content just for them with the intention of other likeminded viewers to discover us as well. One of my proudest work achievements has been continuously surpassing our direct competitors in video output and quality. Video in marketing is a huge asset for any company and I'm beyond pleased that my work has brought so much value to my employer.In an effort to continue learning more skills and branching out in video editing, I've become experienced in visual effects (which is where being a magician comes in). I can remove unwanted objects, like tripods or Starbucks cups, or people out of scenes without a trace. I've been diving into animation and graphics, all of which I aspire to master.
