Our work was focused on the eukaryotic elongation factor 1A (eEF1A), taking into account that it is implicated in protein translation but it also interacts with actin, suggesting that it may have a key role in synaptic plasticity. Elucidating the underlying mechanisms of eEF1A2 may help in understanding local protein translation regulation in neurons, an essential process in synaptic plasticity. Therefore, our main goal was to analyze the functional relevance of eEF1A2 phosphorylation in synaptic plasticity. -
