CurrentIllinois Science Council is a 501c3 organization that increases awareness and understanding of science and technology among the adult public, and promotes Chicago-area scientists, research advancements and institutions. On behalf of ISC, I secured National Science Foundation grant funding in partnership with Northwestern University researcher for outreach programs about neuroscience and brain research. - Created and produced multiple hands-on “Chemistry for Adults” programs in partnership with local businesses featuring products such beer, chocolate, coffee, whiskey, etc. - Partnered with entities like the Chicago Public Library and independent bookstores on 20+ science author talks. - To date has conceived and executed over 250 public programs in different formats to reach previously untapped audiences ranging from 30 to 3,000 attendees, including the Pi Day "Pi K" Run and the Chicago Science Festival.I continue to design and execute communications activities including: website, e-newsletter, media relations, digital marketing, public presentations, and media interviews. My work involves cultivating mutually beneficial relationships with faculty and staff at universities, museums, national laboratories, and companies and with elected officials for collaborative projects.
