I dedicated my first year post-bachelors to support of the St Paul community, through research of early childhood development. I used this knowledge and the suggestions and support of community guardians to guide the Saint Paul Parks and Rec towards sustainable and low-cost infant and toddler programming. The majority of this position was dedicated to Community Outreach and amplifying the thoughts of low-level Parks and Rec workers along with low-income caretakers that would benefit from fun programming for their young children. The final 3 months of this position were during the beginning of the pandemic, and the Parks and Rec decided to shift my focus away from programming and towards community collection and distribution of PPE at dedicated parking lots and community centers around Saint Paul.
