About Monica Omodei

I am now retired from my career in Digital Information Systems and live rurally in the Victorian Alpine Region. I still work occasionally for clients in developing their web presence and with improving their use of online systems and book-keeping. I also manage holiday accommodation on my own property buffalobedandbike.com.auOn retiring from my city-based career I firstly lived and worked on an olive grove and press with my partner and set up a online shop as well as operating a stall at various farmers markets in Melbourne and regional Victoria. After selling the grove we moved to the Alpine Region of Victoria and built two holiday units on our property which I manage myself and we have Superhost status with AirBnB.Originating from a software engineering and IT systems background, the major part of my career was spent working closely with researchers, librarians and archivists and led to specialised areas of expertise in information management, digital collections management and data management. I have managed ICT infrastructure services and software development projects for the University and Research sector and for the National Library of Australia. Along with my digital collection management and preservation experience, which includes web archiving, my general skills are Project Management, Information Modelling, Business Process Modelling, Solutions Architecture and Data Transformation and Analytics.
