I am the founder of The Undivide Project, a solutions-oriented organization that specializes in creating climate resilience in underserved communities through internet infrastructure and service-centered digital solutions. Our approach addresses the intersection between the digital divide and climate injustice and how it impacts vulnerable communities. We create Internet-driven solutions, and media campaigns and advocate for policy and legal frameworks to create digital justice. I have built or organized three prior organizations and initiatives for individuals and institutions. With The Undivide Project, I decided to create something that works for people, the public, and the planet.Throughout my career, I have:- Won an Emmy for exceptional coverage of the 9/11 tragedy while at CNN.- Founded The Undivide Project, securing major funding within the first two years, showcasing my entrepreneurial spirit.- Been named the inaugural Social Innovator in Residence at Grinnell College, recognizing my contributions to social innovation.- Earned the Tropaia Outstanding Teaching Award at Georgetown University for educating and inspiring future disaster law and environmental justice leaders as an Adjunct Professor of Law and EDM.My professional background includes roles such as Senior Committee Counsel for the House of Representatives and Senate Committees on Homeland Security, Senior Legal Advisor for International Response and Programs at the American Red Cross, and attorney for the Small Business Administration, where I developed nationally recognized expertise in disaster response, cybersecurity, and critical infrastructure protection.I am involved with the National Academies of Science, Engineering, and Medicine Committees, and the inaugural class of the FEMA Vanguard Fellows Program. As a Preparedness Month spokesperson, I collaborate with organizations to promote preparedness and disaster risk reduction, and I engage in climate adaptation and resilience efforts with UNDRR and MCR2030.Additionally, I hold faculty affiliations at the Earth Commons at Georgetown University and Georgetown University Law Center. In both roles, I help students understand the intersections of climate change and the digital era.
