Student Coordinator (2017-18). Research cum Project: Women Empowerment through Low Cost TechnologyInnovation Project: Women Empowerment Through Low-Cost Technology- Student Coordinator at the Lakshmibai College, University of Delhi for 2017-18, and member for the period 2015-2018. The purpose of the project was to bring about empowerment through awareness generation, facilitation of information, and training on handmade sanitary napkins sustaining the skill by involving other stakeholders.i. Conducted research by collecting data on the awareness levels among the target groups through direct personal observation supplemented by interviews and focus group discussions. (Sample- school Girls of class 6th standard to 8th standard, their mothers, and School Teachers). ii. Developed acquaintance in community women and girls with the subject of menstrual hygiene mismanagement.iii. Conducted workshops and interactive sessions related to women's empowerment and provided them with thorough knowledge on the important issues regarding Menstrual health and hygiene in the schools near Chandrawal area in North Delhiiv. Encouraged low-cost sanitation technologies by producing sanitary napkins in college from scratchv. Developed a mechanism within the institution with the help of trained population groups for production and sale of sanitary padsvi. Tried to generate acceptability in the community for handmade sanitary materialsand motivated them to use such productsvii. Distributed samples of self-made sanitary napkins at various government schools.
