I’m an enthusiastic Registered Kinesiologist who believes that patient education, regular physical activity and targeted exercise prescription is a powerful way to work with people who have cancer or other chronic diseases in order to engage their mind and body so they can reclaim some control over their bodies.In my 20 years in the field I’ve seen firsthand how astonishing exercise can be in transforming children, youth and adults into movement-loving, health-conscious individuals, and how pivotal of a role well-designed therapeutic exercise program can play in managing, or even stopping chronic diseases in its tracks.My specialties include chronic disease management, cancer exercise rehab, functional program design, exercise prescription and clinical assessment (I have these skills down pat!). I also enjoy educating my patients and clients on various aspects of physical and mental health and their connection to movement.As a founder of Early Movement Academy Inc. for four years I managed the entire business from top to bottom including, recruitment, staff training, performance evaluations, budgeting, operational and service plans and standards, facility bookings, program design, implementation and marketing. Looking ahead, it’s my intention to be part of an interdisciplinary, community-focused program development team that views exercise and patient education as pivotal elements on the chronic disease continuum of care.Feel free to send me a note if you’d like to connect.
