This was a co-op position for students enrolled in UBC's graduate program Master of Educational Technology. It was an introduction to course development and creating richer content modules for a UBC Earth and Ocean Sciences graduate course. My role consisted of:- Reading slides and converting them into H5P content which I would link to Canvas and edit with HTML and CSS when required.- Working with another learning strategist and gaining insight on what works when creating online graduate courses.

This position focused on website design and development for the university's marketing website.- Collaborate with clients alongside marketing strategists, content and graphic specialists to design the universities web pages.- Became familiar with the ACM content management system while using Javascript, HTML5, CSS3 with Foundation 5 Framework, in order to create web pages.- Use ActiveCollab to keep track of tasks and inform others on updates as well as Microsoft Teams to write up documentation on processes for my team.

This was a front desk position at the Sandman Signature Kamloops Hotel.- Communicating guest requests to departments and ensuring all problems are resolved.- Worked with other coworkers under busy rush hours while checking in/out 50-100 guests.- Learned to use the hospitality program Maestro to reserve, check in/out guests.

This position was a co-op work term as an introduction to online course development.- Part of the production team that edits Thompson Rivers University’s online courses.- Used JIRA to keep track of courses as well as documenting errors and commenting on issues.- Editing new online courses, starting with Word then converting to and editing it in XML, then to HTML in order to upload it to the learning platform Moodle.- Converting existing online courses on the Blackboard learning platform to Moodle.- Doing a lot of independent work on editing the courses but also reviewing courses from team members and collaborating with them to fine-tune the course.

This was my first co-op as a full-stack software developer.- Learned and applied the OGS Software Development Lifecycle (SDLC) using JIRA workflows.- Using Python, Django and Tastypie developed backend code changes including Django Admin enhancements, platform changes and API development.- Increased proficiency with database querying using PostgreSQL and integration Django migrations. - Did onboarding for new employee, guided them through the Open Gaming Solutions Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). Also assisted them with the OGS code base and documentation standards.
