I lead a group of market analysts and controllers (10 persons) that acted as decision support for AstraZenecas business in Sweden. We were responsible for forecasts and budgets for sales and costs for short and long term. We developed decision bases for new activities, product aquisitions and product sales. We looked for new business opportunities and new ways of introducing our products. We were part of the product teams, developed brand plans, followed up results and proposed new activities. Portfolio prioritisation and optimal resource allocation were other areas we worked with.

I led a group that was accountable for the Supply Chain for AstraZeneca’s Primary Care products (e.g. Nexium, Losec, Symbicort, Crestor). We ensured that there was supply during the whole life cycle, ie for clinical studies, for launch and up until the product is withdrawn from the market. We followed the lean concept; reducing lead times and stocks with the overall aim of eliminating all activities that do not bring any value to the customer.

1999 up until January 2006, I worked as Director Global Planning, leading a group of 9 people, placed in Södertälje and Manchester respectively. Global Planning ambition was to facilitate the development of brands that truly meet the needs of our customers and to create the best platform for strategic thinking and optimal decision making. We introduced a common way of doing ”marketing planning” across AZ to get much stronger links between global and local strategies as well as much better visible links between the strategic and the operational plans/tactics. This project was closely linked with the AZ wide Marketing Excellence program - raising our game in Marketing.

I started my career in Astra in 1987 as a market analyst. I analysed our sales performance, worked with Marketing Company plans, budget plans, launch plans and evaluated new market opportunities.
