Monimia “Mimi” Macbeth (she,her) is a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor and Dance/Movement Therapist in Chicago. Mimi received her Master of Arts in Dance/Movement Therapy & Counseling from Columbia College of Chicago and her Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Florida International University. Mimi’s clinical background includes treatment for individuals who have experienced severe trauma, eating disorders and substance abuse. Mimi works in private practice, academic and community settings, and provides training on arts integration, social-emotional learning, and the power of cultural exploration for healing, to professionals and youth throughout the city. Mimi is a lifelong learner of African dance and African diasporic dance styles, with a variety of training in traditional dance technique and performing arts.
