About Monique Watson
I am a current junior in biomedical engineering at Purdue University with computational biomedicine and biomechanics pathways. At Purdue, I am involved in undergraduate research, the women in engineering program, and intramural sports. Additionally, I work as a substitute teacher in Lafayette School Corporation schools, supporting students from preschool to 12th grade. During my time at Purdue, I had the privilege of completing a four-rotation co-op at Zimmer Biomet. This experience allowed me to work with teams of over 30 individuals in the Trauma and Recon-Knees development departments. Additionally, I have gained valuable experience in a chemical engineering lab through the SURF program, where I focused on creating tumor organoids and testing cancer treatments. My main passions are orthopedics and cardiovascular devices. Once I complete my BME degree, I plan to transition to industry. I want to work in research and development to make devices or instruments that improve people's lives.
