In this role I have:- Developed and launched an energy and water efficiency tool for the Apartment Building sector. This tool has had the highest uptake after launch in the 20-year history of the program.- Developed an energy and water efficiency tool for small shopping centres- Project managed a complex update to the metering section in the NABERS technical standardsI have also initiated a number of activities to improve team operations, leveraging my previous experience at Pollinate Energy. For over ten years, NABERS, a national performance tool for buildings, has helped property owners, managers and tenants become more sustainable, reaping financial benefits and building their reputation.In this role I leveraged my experience in sustainable buildings and entrepreneurship to develop innovative ways for office tenancies to improve their performance. This led to the delivery of "Co-Assess", an application process which allows buildings with base building ratings to rate their tenancies at the same time - overcoming many barriers to tenancies getting rated.

Good Return is an innovative social enterprise established by World Education Australia to address poverty issues in the Asia Pacific region.In this role I worked with microfinance institutions across Nepal, the Philippines, Cambodia,Laos and Indonesia to develop distribution chains and micro-finance products forsustainable energy products. This work was undertaken after extensive consultation withculturally and linguistically diverse communities – I personally conducted over 3000surveys of microfinance customers and advocated to suppliers and local authorities on theirbehalf. At WSP I worked as an environmental design consultant for 4 years and a team leader for 1 year.My work as an environmental design consultant focused on both the internal and external environmental impacts of building design. This approach produces cost-effective buildings that have small environmental footprints, through reduced energy and water consumption, as well as healthy indoor environments, which promotes staff productivity and well-being. Projects I delivered included:– A Carbon Disclosure Tool for the property industry, in conjunction with Lend Lease– The new Melbourne Convention Centre Development, which achieved Australia’s first ever 6 star Green Star Convention Centre Design rating;– The new Perth Arena, and – Environmental concept design for VicUrban’s Revitalising Dandenong project.I also served on the Green Star Residential Tool Technical Working Group.

Whilst studying at university, I was interviewed and selected by Michael Mobbs as an engineering consultant. Michael Mobbs built the first sustainable urban house in Sydney, which collects all its own water from rainwater, recycles wastewater and produces its electricity from photovoltaics. The primary role of this job was to create sustainability strategies for construction projects in the Sydney region. I worked proactively to find practical solutions to improve the environmental performance of these buildings.
