As Head of Operations and Standards for this world-leading program, my responsibilities are:• Day-to-day oversight of branch operations – I hold primary responsibility for managing teams to deliver consistently excellent service for customers, supporting the continued year-on-year growth of the program. I manage the delivery of over 50 new and mature products, conduct training and maintain integrity with our audit program. • Staff management – I lead a team of 14, manage the work of a technical community of over 20 and support over 400 independent NABERS assessors to deliver products and services. • Collaboration with strategic partners – I negotiate, advocate and source funding for leading-edge innovations aimed at market transformation.• Board engagement – I engage deeply with our National Steering Committee, made up of both government and industry, to ensure that the NABERS program remains highly respected and world-leading.

In this role I have:- Developed and launched an energy and water efficiency tool for the Apartment Building sector. This tool has had the highest uptake after launch in the 20-year history of the program.- Developed an energy and water efficiency tool for small shopping centres- Project managed a complex update to the metering section in the NABERS technical standardsI have also initiated a number of activities to improve team operations, leveraging my previous experience at Pollinate Energy. These include a resource request process, resource coordination process, quality assurance process, formalised team communication strategy, activity planning including KPI reporting, an in-house training program and workshops on what our values mean to us.

For over ten years, NABERS, a national performance tool for buildings, has helped property owners, managers and tenants become more sustainable, reaping financial benefits and building their reputation.In this role I leveraged my experience in sustainable buildings and entrepreneurship to develop innovative ways for office tenancies to improve their performance. This led to the delivery of "Co-Assess", an application process which allows buildings with base building ratings to rate their tenancies at the same time - overcoming many barriers to tenancies getting rated.

Pollinate Energy is a not-for-profit social business focused on providing access to low cost, clean energy technology that improves the livelihood of poor people living in India's urban slums. As one of the cofounders of the organisation I oversaw Pollinate's expansion into one of India's most highly regarded energy social business that at the time of my departure had changed the lives of over 70,000 people, in more than 1500 city slum communities, across three of India's largest cities. In this role I:- Served as an executive director of both the Indian and Australian businesses, providing leadership, strategic direction and business planning.- Spoke on behalf of Pollinate Energy at international events and to the media- Designed and executed fundraising strategies including crowdfunding, grant applications and targeting direct donations- Oversaw the operations and finance portfolio in the role of COO for 3 years- Oversaw the financial and compliance portfolio in the role of CFO for 1 year- Worked directly with our suppliers, communities and field level staff to test, develop and deploy suitable products and loans- Worked as part of a team to develop a Salesforce cloud solution and mobile application for our low literacy staff, which significantly reduced admin time and default rates- Managed the work of staff, franchisees and both paid and pro-bono support consultants. Pollinate has been well published and recognised by organisations including the UN, the Thomas Reuters Foundation, the Qantas Foundation, the Atlantic, The Financial Review and the Sydney Morning Herald. I worked with Green Building Councils internationally to help them solve their most significant challenges.Green Building Council of Mauritius (Feb - Mar 2011)- Implemented a membership engagement strategy, significantly increasing interactions with key stakeholders WSP (Mauritius) (Feb - Mar 2011)- Designed and ran a sustainability buildings training program for staff, leading to more confidence in implementing sustainability initiatives on projectsGreen Building Council of Ghana (April 2011 - June 2011)- Spearheaded the technical adaption and licensing of the Green Star tool from Australia, which led to the first Green Star rated building in Ghana- Green Building Council of Australia (Assessor) (2006 - 2015)

Good Return is an innovative social enterprise established by World Education Australia to address poverty issues in the Asia Pacific region.In this role I worked with microfinance institutions across Nepal, the Philippines, Cambodia,Laos and Indonesia to develop distribution chains and micro-finance products forsustainable energy products. This work was undertaken after extensive consultation withculturally and linguistically diverse communities – I personally conducted over 3000surveys of microfinance customers and advocated to suppliers and local authorities on theirbehalf. While with Good Return I also developed and ran financial and energy literacytraining.

At WSP I worked as an environmental design consultant for 4 years and a team leader for 1 year.My work as an environmental design consultant focused on both the internal and external environmental impacts of building design. This approach produces cost-effective buildings that have small environmental footprints, through reduced energy and water consumption, as well as healthy indoor environments, which promotes staff productivity and well-being. Projects I delivered included:– A Carbon Disclosure Tool for the property industry, in conjunction with Lend Lease– The new Melbourne Convention Centre Development, which achieved Australia’s first ever 6 star Green Star Convention Centre Design rating;– The new Perth Arena, and – Environmental concept design for VicUrban’s Revitalising Dandenong project.I also served on the Green Star Residential Tool Technical Working Group.

Whilst studying at university, I was interviewed and selected by Michael Mobbs as an engineering consultant. Michael Mobbs built the first sustainable urban house in Sydney, which collects all its own water from rainwater, recycles wastewater and produces its electricity from photovoltaics. The primary role of this job was to create sustainability strategies for construction projects in the Sydney region. I worked proactively to find practical solutions to improve the environmental performance of these buildings.
