Dr Monique Beedles founded specialised strategy consultancy, Teak Yew, in 2004. Teak Yew has a focus on Asset Management for large companies and government bodies including Mining, Rail, Ports and Utilities. Monique holds a PhD in Corporate Strategy and a Master of Finance. As the winner of a QUT Alumni scholarship, Monique participated in an Executive Education Program at the Harvard Business School in 2012.Dr Beedles is a Fellow of the Australian Institute of Company Directors (AICD) and has more than 20 years experience as a board director in commercial, government and not-for-profit organisations. Monique is passionate about the importance of raising the conversation about Asset Management to the board level and her Asset Management for Directors was published by AICD in 2016.Monique has a special interest in mentoring women for leadership, executive and board roles, particularly in traditionally male dominated fields. Monique is an Executive Advisor for the QUT Executive MBA program, a mentor in the QUT Alumni Fostering Executive Women Program, a mentor for Women on Boards, and for the Women in Technology Board Readiness program. Dr Monique Beedles was one of the first Australian group of 35 CAMA professionals to be officially certified as an Asset Management Assessor by World Partners in Asset Management (WPiAM). Based on GFMAM’s (Global Forum on Maintenance and Asset Management) ‘Competency Specification for an ISO 55001 Asset Management Auditor and Assessor’ the CAMA certification was developed by leading not-for-profit asset management organisations which form WPiAM and include: ABRAMAN (Brazil), the Asset Management Council (Australia), IFRAMI (France), PEMAC (Canada) and SMRP (United States). .Compliance with the Competency Specification for an ISO 55001 Asset Management Auditor and Assessor’; ensures that successful applicants have the minimum required knowledge to be an ISO 55001 assessor. Certificants must have a minimum of five years’ experience in asset management and a strong working knowledge of ISO 5500X.
