Throughout her career Monique has worked with leading companies, delivering significant capital projects (>US$500M), with a focus on maximising long-term shareholder returns.Holding management roles for over 20 years within South Africa's Iscor Mining group (now Mittal Steel Ltd and Kumba Resources), AustralAsian Resource Consultants, GHD Engineering, PWC and Nakheel PJSC (responsible for The Palm and World islands in Dubai), Monique has lived and work in Africa, Asia and the Middle East.As an accomplished and AICD-qualified Company Board Director, Monique has advised at the highest level of listed and private companies, as well as establishing a number of her own enterprises.In 2010, Monique founded MJC Sustainability, an international consulting company helping projects and businesses deliver sustainable outcomes. This has included significant capital project delivery (for multinational companies including Vodafone, BHP Billiton, Anglo American, Qantas, Virgin Airlines), development and delivery of desert-compatible renewable energy technologies, through to sustainable master plan design for significant projects (+500,000 residents), due diligence reviews on potential joint venture partners, and achieving significant reductions in water, energy and waste, as well as marked improvements in EHS practices. In 2011, Monique founded TheGreenShop – an eco-friendly line of clothing and retail products.In 2014, Monique became the Founder and Managing Director of the Day One Group of Companies, incorporating Day One Early Learning Centres (a boutique group of early learning centres located across South-East Queensland).Monique is also the Author of Switch it On! Activate your personal potential, a Non-Executive Director and Board Advisor, major capital project director, assessor for the Infrastructure Sustainability Council of Australia, and a noted speaker on sustainable business.
