I always believed my future would be in the world of music, dance, choreography. Yet, my Indo-German background and the 1990s encouraged more ‘practical’ studies. I chose a degree in Business Management that enabled work and study in London, Paris and Frankfurt and continued my studies with an MBA. A one-off situation helping a startup organize a trade event changed the course of my career. Before I knew it, I was head of marketing, administration, operations, HR and more. I loved the energy, initiative and mostly the freedom in an SME. 25 years on has made me an obsessively organised doer brimming with contagious energy to get things done. A serendipitous encounter with my MBA professor inspired my doctoral studies. I dedicated two years unravelling the unprecedented impact of multiple generations in global organisations, along with a focused study on younger Indian generations and their ability to succeed at CX.I spent years as an enterprise adviser, guiding secondary school’s senior management on improving their career training in their school. I continue to mentor the next generation on career readiness.My passion for music and dance continues to enrich my life. I have recognized the irreplaceable value of lifelong learning. Whenever time permits, I learn… from spirituality and yoga to computer sciences and languages.Today, my role has evolved to take on most elements of running a small business. With my years of experience in the business, travelling and of course my personal evolution, I use this space to share my candid opinions.
