And over the next 20+ months it was indeed a pleasure to work with not only an Ex-Mariconian, thorough bred professional but above all a wonderful human being. Mono managed to cross pollinate FMCG best practices into entertainment via structural changes in both people & processes. For example: the implementation of a standardised cost template for the TV shows in line with the 3P cost templates prevalent in FMCG. He also digitised the internal approval process and ran multiple cost optimisation initiatives that brought down the avg cost per Episode for the TV shows. High on ethics and integrity, he and I resonated and complemented each other very well in discharging our respective roles at Zee. I am leading a Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation funded Food Fortification project in Asia (India, Bangladesh, Pakistan and Indonesia) that aims to provide Technical Assistance to private sector organisations (Millers) engaged in staple food manufacturing to improve the compliance of food fortification and encourage more organisations to voluntarily fortify the staples they produce. We are building a coalition of stakeholders in Food Fortification under Millers For Nutrition initiative by bringing together Millers and Technical Service providers on this platform to assist the food processors adopt better fortification practice thus enabling them produce high quality nutritious food for the consumers.
