Universities often have many types of websites. My work at Saint Mary's involved oversight and management (including daily edits and updates) of the main university website and the nearly 50 WordPress sites used by offices, departments, and programs across the university. Over the course of 15 years, I led 4 major website redesigns, incorporating new technologies, functions, and features, with a focus on user experience, device-agnostic design, brand integrity, and telling compelling stories. I created landing pages with RFI forms that connected to Salesforce (Form Assembly forms) for digital advertising campaigns. I managed a team of web editors, specialists, and student interns, in a collaborative, open, trusting environment, nurturing their hard-won skills and natural abilities.I was often asked to work on special projects outside of my official duties. I was the lead for our Salesforce implementation for undergraduate admissions. I assisted with the setup of our learning management system. I built a database for matching volunteers and the local community for the university's volunteer committee project.So, perhaps you could say that my unofficial job at the university was "fixer." I helped people take their on-paper, crazy, in-their-head ideas, and make them work in technical and human systems. I made time for lost people as a non-IT, go-to person for tech issues – people came to me with questions, looking for explanations when they hit the wall, didn’t understand their options, or needed to talk through what they just heard. I always found different ways to explain something when it wasn’t clicking, when things were opaque and perplexing and folks were bemused.

Worked as Associate Website Manager before transitioning into the Director of Web and Web Development.

Assisted program directors with recruiting students, advertising, marketing, created classroom materials, managed mailings and general office duties. Provided technical support for faculty and enrolled students. Trained faculty and students on course management systems. Created departmental websites for programs.
