We worked with over 1000 customers and suppliers by responding to VOIP call completion, call quality, fax, and DTMF issues that were reported in trouble tickets and phone calls. Successful at bringing order to that team’s workflow, documenting best practices and technical procedures, specifying new tools and raising the team’s technical competency (SIP, RTP, T.38, RFC2833) and communications skill level to among the best in class. The IDT network is primarily VOIP (SIP) and includes TDM/SS7 interconnects.2003 - 2015 - IDT’s Cable Telephony division served five Tier 1 and 2 CATV operators in North America supporting over 250k phone lines. Created and implemented the Service Operations team within the start-up organization to support our customer’s day-to-day device provisioning, number porting, DL, LIDB , 911 service order processing and trouble resolution activities; provide oversight and management of internal and external operations teams; real-time management and accountability of vendors; process and system management of our product and tool set. Overwhelmingly successful at achieving a high level of credibility with my counterparts and their teams which contributed to their decisions to renew contacts with IDT.Additionally managed the 24 X 7 Network Operations team. Established standard procedures and instilled discipline that ensured the high availability of our platform that was required to meet our contracted SLAs. Planned and participated in the execution of critical HW/SW upgrades. Led incident responses and the follows up root cause analysis, repairs and communications with vendors and our customers. -

Hardware/System DeveloperAt&T Bell Laboratories 1981 - 1998• Project Management responsibilities for a 32-person technical team working on multiple projects that included – Interactive TV set-top-box, CATV interdiction system, cable modem receiver, Internet Kiosks, Ship-to-shore email, home automation, VOIP outsourcing and graphical screen telephones.• Lead Architect and Project Manager for the development of a CATV based consumer video conferencing system. Coordinated design efforts of engineers in multiple AT&T locations and at contract houses. Presented project status updates to senior Managers for whom this project was an important strategic initiative leading to AT&T’s entry into the CATV business.• Designed and developed video display hardware for the world’s first real time 3D ray tracing computer (AT&T Pixel Machine).• Developed hardware, firmware and device drivers for novel digital video acquisition systems that made possible one of the first commercially available Medical Image Archival and Communications systems. Maintained a trial Telemedicine system at Duke University Medical Center.• 1981 - Deployed some of the first public video conferencing systems in 13 US cities. Evaluated and selected video equipment (camera’s, monitors, projectors, printers, lighting). Authored installation, setup and acceptance testing procedures. Performed acceptance testing of the rooms. I led the HW/SW design of what was arguably the first commercially available portable video conferencing system and demonstrated the product at the 1984 Global Teleconferencing Symposium.Developed state of the art digital video circuits and managed the design of systems used in video conferencing, medical image archival, tele-medicine, 3D graphics, interactive video, CATV, home automation and screen based telephones. -
