Monte assists on mergers and acquisitions ranging in size from small companies to large multidivisional companies. He advises clients on acquisition and divestiture analysis, deal negotiation, transaction structure, accounting and implementation and performance of due diligence investigations.Monte also assists in post-closing matters such as net working-capital true-ups and the auditing of business combinations under Financial Accounting Standards Board (FASB) ASC 805, Business Combinations. He has more than 16 years of professional experience, including approximately 14 years in public accounting. In addition to Monte’s transaction advisory expertise, his public accounting experience includes providing audit, consulting and accounting services in a variety of industries.Monte has written several articles for publication in local print media outlets and on websites of national business associations. He regularly contributes articles for BKD’s newsletters and gives presentations for industry-focused seminars. Monte is a member of the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants, Missouri Society of Certified Public Accountants and Kansas Society of Certified Public Accountants.

Monte was the chief financial officer of this private equity backed company that completed three mergers. In each transaction, he worked with the buyers, sellers and lenders to evaluate the deals and close the transactions. Subsequent to closing, Monte evaluated the accounting treatment and recorded the transactions in accordance with FASB ASC 805. He also worked closely with the company’s independent CPA firm to facilitate its auditing of the merger transactions.
