Intelligence Research Specialist
CurrentConducts all-source intelligence research and analysis to identify potential national security concerns from refugee and asylum applicants of selected nations for U.S. citizenship. Analyzes multiple United Nations refugee reports and persecution statements to identify testimonial inconsistencies and potential national security concerns for adjudicative consideration. Studies Middle-Eastern conflict conditions at the micro-country level; produces in-depth, accurate summary reports utilized by the interviewing Refugee Officer to assist in adjudicative verdicts. Identifies information gaps and recommended lines of questioning to fill various Priority Intelligence Information Requirements, as well as Homeland Security Standing Information Needs, and other information requirements. • Conducts enhanced vetting of refugee applicants utilizing US classified system databases and systems• Cross-references data against standing applicant information holdings for possible terrorism links• Executes post-interview analysis of Syrian refugee case interview notes to identify areas of needed additional research• Generates case-specific intelligence reporting for adjudication purposes, and nominates individuals for new or enhanced watch-listing inclusion within the Terrorist Identities Datamart Environment and Terrorist Screening Center Database applications.
