Monte Large leads the development of retail, commercial, and mixed-use real estate projects. The projects combine to total approximately $50 million on 11 acres with 200,000 square feet of retail and mixed-use space in both new construction and historically renovated buildings. Two of the notable developments are an approximately 3-acre mixed use project including the historic Suniland Furniture building and a ground-up parking garage with retail on the first and top floors, and Almeda Yards, a retail district on one full city block in Midtown, Houston. The Suniland development is located adjacent to and anchoring the eastern side of Midtown Houston's highly anticipated "town center," the upcoming 3-acre "Superblock" Park on Main Street and McGowen. The Suniland development will span 2+ blocks and create a campus anchored by a renovated 100,000 square foot historic 1928 Suniland building that will house chef-driven and national restaurants, soft good retail, a boutique hotel, and loft office space. The block to the east will include a 5-story mixed-use parking garage with retail on the ground and top floors and a prominent industry-leading movie theater. Almeda Yards is a multi-concept retail district created on one city block that is part of an approximately 6-acre site in eastern Midtown. The site was acquired and pieced together over 10+ years to be developed and sold to multiple users in order to create a dense urban mixed-use neighborhood.
