In the role of Risk Manager, I provide support to Major Projects managers and employees by developing and implementing risk systems, reporting and processes to best develop, monitor and manage project and program risk. I am responsible for compliance with corporate risk policies and consistent management of risk within the Major Projects Office.• Provide advice, guidance and recommendations to Major Projects leadership team in developing sound risk management principles and tools with the objective of effectively managing business and program risk.• Establish and maintain Major Projects’ risk management and assurance plans.• Lead, manage, implement, and maintain risk requirements in accordance with the Major Projects Risk Management Plan so that business and program effectiveness and efficiency are supported, and continuous improvements are maintained.• Develop, maintain and monitor risk management plans and strategies, risk registers and Quantitative Risk Assessment (QRA) models, as well as providing guidance to project managers as required.• Establish and manage a system for monitoring and reporting on assurance improvements actions.• Develop, train and mentor project managers in relation to effective risk management and project assurance.• Lead Major Projects risk and assurance reporting and report to the management team on the status of risk management, risk profiles and assurance strategies and plans.• Design, conduct and evaluate targeted business risk management programs including the development and maintenance of risk profiles, mitigation strategies and plans.• Manage key stakeholder relationships through the instigation of continuous improvement, promoting business controls and development of staff competencies.

In doing this I ensure effective coordination of key operational activities and resources associated with project management and process development.Accountabilities include:• Active contribution to the application of the TMR Risk Management Framework in an infrastructure delivery context.• Provision of advice, assistance, and support in the facilitation of risk management workshops, including reviews and the completion of Risk Logs utilising TMR approved templates.• Provide risk management training and support to PDO Branch, including Regions and Districts, and the development of training material.• Interface with relevant business units internal and external to PDO Branch, which may include representation at selected committees or decision making bodies.• Contribute to the design, development, application, analysis of, and reponse to various risk management initiatives such as risk management maturity assessments, risk profiling tools and instruments etc• Develop and maintain key relationships with stakeholders regarding risk management services in an infrastructure context.• Maintain an understanding of and operate within departmental risk management policies and practices. • Comply with the WH&S Act, Regulations and Departmental Policies.

Providing support to the Field Teams in the day-to-day construction and delivery of the Fibre Servicing Area Module to successfully deliver the NBN Infrastructure Project. General duties includes:- Leading the team for 76 Fibre To the Basement (FTTB) projects - During all construction phases of the project, ensure the delivery of quality works compliant with contractual and Australian industry standards.- Ensure NPAMs, NODs and specifications are requested for the specific area works- Provide clarification and data required to facilitate submission of Design Variations (IFDVs)- Assisting in the development of the initial and revised program and identifying required subcontractors and traffic control are in place with appropriate council approvals- Raising construction changes identified in the pre-construction walk-off as a variation and ensure only approved changes are included in updates- Ensuring all IT systems and Construction Reports are up to date and maintained with accurate BOQ and progress quantities for construction- Conduct monthly forecast and weekly schedule tracking for each individual FSAMs.- Preparation and submission of payment reconciliations for projects

• Development of Council’s asset management plans for a number of asset categories including roads, bridges, culverts and facilities.• Analysis of existing asset register data for use in asset management plans and asset modelling.• Asset life cycle modelling to ensure sustainable asset management by identifying maintenance and renewal requirements and comparing this to available expenditure and assessing the long-term impacts on levels of service.• Identification of asset quantities, asset condition, useful and remaining lives, treatment types and unit rates, intervention levels and existing asset expenditure for the purpose of asset modelling.• Use of Asset Management guidelines and manuals, such as IIMM, and IPWEAQ Condition Assessment and Asset Performance Guidelines. • Knowledge of internal Council documentation relating to asset management including Council’s Asset Management Policy and Strategy.• Liaison with key stakeholders within Council including asset owners and the Finance Department for the development and ongoing management of asset management plans drawing on local knowledge within key functional areas.• Involved in regular Asset Management Group Meetings with various departments to discuss ongoing asset management requirements.• Assessment of traffic related requests to meet the requirements of the MUTCD.
