Began work as a welder in the mining industry in 2003 after a year of trade school from local community College. Transitioned from field welding in 2014 to drafting parts with CAD and operating a plasma/oxy-fuel cut table on plate up to 8" thick. Obtained my AWS-CWI license in 2015 and began working in quality control operating a portable articulating coordinate measuring machine, (PCMM) and laser tracker. Examinations covered gear cases, mechanical alignment of components, audit of internal and 3rd party components as well as repairs. In 2016 I began working with an asset management group planning and overseeing capital projects for three open pit mines across Wyoming and Montana. As a project coordinator I developed Gantt charts for overhauls of electric rope shovels and draglines with outages ranging from 2 weeks to 2 months. My time was spent performing QC/QA throughout the duration of projects monitoring quality of weld and machining repairs. In addition to administrative duties I performed daily MSHA compliance site walks. I perform alignment on in-situ machining equipment such as portable mills and bars. Some of these alignments were circular mills for dragline rack and rail paths, up to 40 feet in diameter, or aligning boring bars for swing alignment while on high-cam with high accuracy and repeatable results. In 2019 I began working as a quality control specialist for a CAT dealer performing first article inspection on new fabrication as well as incoming parts for rebuild and repair. Inspection methods utilized: UT, MT, PT, and VT. Components were also examined using articulating arms, laser trackers, and a scan arm to produce 3D polygonal mesh models in 3DMetrology software. Industries serviced ranged from mining, chemical plants, steel mills, power plants, and manufacturing facilities. In addition to QC/QA, I oversaw the certification of company welders in adherence to AWS, ASME, and OEM specific codes and standards. In the summer of 2020 my company, Blue Ridge Industrial, was formed as a Partnership LLC. BRI's primary focus has been working across all industrial sectors performing equipment examinations, weld/machine repairs, and component scanning and modeling. In the fall of 2020 I obtained my API 510 certification for the inspection of Pressure Vessels. In the spring of 2022 I bought out my business partner and retained sole ownership of Blue Ridge Industrial.I currently work in industry offering over 20 years of wide ranging experience to my customers.
