About Stephen Moorcroft
Stephen is an expert in the briefing and strategic direction of large and complex commercial workplace interior design projects. He is a UK qualified Chartered Architect and has worked in London, Sydney and Perth. He has been in a design role since 1997, specialised in commercial workplace from 2004 and has led large project and design discipline teams from 2005, managing up to 25 projects at one time.Stephen has a varied architectural experience including heritage residential and base build pharmaceutical laboratory projects. He has increasingly focused on commercial workplace both in consultant design and client design management roles. As well as new construction materials and technologies Stephen is passionate about understanding what his clients need to best support their people, the developing nature of workplace this demands and how the physical environment can respond.Experience includes leading the teams designing Activity Based Workplaces for the Department of Planning Lands and Heritage, Rio Tinto, Arup and the Department of Finance in Perth. Other Australian clients have included Chevron, CSIRO, EY, Finlaysons, iag, Jones Day, KPMG, Macquarie, McKinsey&Co, UWA, Westpac and Woodside. Stephen has also worked as a client side design manager for Macquarie’s global and EMEA headquarters buildings in Sydney and London. All of these addressed each client's challenges in workplace cultural change, technology integration, balancing focus with collaboration and protecting future flexibility.
