Project: The City of Detroit had a requirement for UNIX administration for their production and development financial/ human resource environment in a datacenter environment numbering 22 servers. Responsibilities:Maintained HP equipment running Oracle in a HP-UX 11.11 environment. Maintained IBM systems running AIX for the Detroit Police Department.Maintained a Veritas disk environment. Tuned operating system to optimize the DRMS and Oracle environment. Performed OS patch upgrades as needed.Performed firmware flashes to respective components as dictated by manufacturer.Maintained system backups using HP Omniback Dataprotector software.

Project: The Detroit Public Schools were mandated to upgrade the financial and human capital management systems requiring an UNIX administrator. Environment included all development and production server class systems numbering 12. Responsibilities:Built, and maintained SunFire 4800 and 6800 Solaris 8 equipment running Oracle and PeopleSoft. Maintained T-3 disks with a firmware Raid 5 configuration.Performed disk upgrade to T-3B with the Veritas filesystem featuring Raid 0+1.Built student LDAP Sun V20Z SunFire servers, as required from DVD media set.Tuned operating system to optimize the Peoplesoft and Oracle environment.Performed OS patch upgrades, as needed. Project: Compuware had a need for a UNIX skilled Technical Support Representative to answer customer questions pertaining to the Uniface product. A datacenter lab was constructed to emulate customers' hardware. Various UNIX based systems numbering 30 were represented in a networked environment.Responsibilities:Maintained HP equipment running Oracle in a HP-UX 11 environment. Performed firmware flashes to respective hardware as dictated by manufacturer Built and maintained Sun Solaris 2.6 equipment running Oracle and Uniface. Answered customer questions governing UNIX issues as related to Uniface.

Project: General Motors Truck and Bus was mandated by management to conduct an audit by an UNIX professional the HP 9000 servers to ensure Y2K compliance. At time of the evaluation, GM had over 200 systems being evaluated and were patched accordingly.Responsibilities:Evaluated all HP-UX servers for Y2K compliance.Evaluated Windows desktops for Y2k compliance.Ordered all HP specific Y2K depot software on CD, as requiredInstalled Y2K patch sets as required.

Project: Compuware has an ongoing requirement to maintain by an experienced Sun Solaris Administrator the human resources and financial Oracle servers. Corporate servers numbered 7 in a production environment.Responsibilities:Performed system administration duties on corporate Sun E10K Solaris servers.Instructed internal professional services UNIX classes, as required.

Project: Compuware had a requirement to offer post-sales classes by an UNIX administrator for new technical and non-technical customer recently purchasing the EcoTools product.Responsibilities:Performed post-sales on-site instruction to new end users of Compuware's EcoTools product.Demonstrated Eco-Tools product in relation to monitoring Oracle and UNIX system activity.Instructed internal professional services UNIX classes, as required.

Assigned to Ford Motor Company had a requirement with the aid of UNIX administration team to port the PDGS CAD application to the Sun Solaris and HP-UX platforms. As a Platform Specialist, responsibility included 130+ Sun Solaris workstation class systems, and 25+ HP HP-UX workstation class systems.Responsibilities:Acted as systems administrator for all Sun Sparc systems running Solaris and HP workstations running HP-UX in the CAD Development department.Performed server administration duties to the Sun compile server. Upgraded the Sun systems from SunOS 4.1.X (Berkeley) to Solaris 2.3 OS using the Sun Jumpstart utility and disk to disk copy (dd).Incorporated NIS utility for user authentication and NFS information. Implemented NFS automount to allow common filesystem mounts mapped to a developer's account.
