Lecturer

Smith School Of Business At Queen'S University

I challenge students to make business lead the way to create a more resilient, equal, and just world.Their skills in finance, operations, strategy, accounting, ethics, and responsible leadership are just what the world needs. Here are some student comments about COMM 408 Sustainability:Your course is without any doubt the best course that I have taken at the Queen's School of Business, so I would like to thank you for this semester.Thank you for this course, it was so interesting and I learned so much! It should be mandatory in every University. I will take back to Belgium some of your expertise and I will try to convince people about the importance of the environment. Thanks for a challenging and eye-opening semester! It called into question my original thought of what "out of the box thinking" was and asked of me my opinions on many topics I had not considered/realized in great depth before. Thanks for the great semester. I thoroughly appreciate your progressive/radical ideas. If other professors were as willing to question the status quo as you are, this program would be much, much more intellectually challenging/stimulating/rewarding. Thank you so much for what you are doing every day. Educating people in the right way is one of the best things for a better world. I really hope this course will be mandatory one day at QBS. I was already convinced about climate change but some others in the course weren't three months ago. Now it is amazing to see them speak knowledgeably in conversations with other people. You really changed them! When I'm back home, the first thing I'll do is translate your slides and explain them to my family. This was the most stimulating and the most enjoyable class I have taken in my seven semesters at Queen's. Your class has inspired me to pursue graduate studies in the field of environmental designThank you again for creating and teaching such an amazing course. I truly enjoyed it more than any other course this year.

Lecturer

Queen'S University

I fuel the natural inclination of most ES students to make a better world - to ask questions, to do their research, to speak out, to take action. Here are some student comments about ENSC 310 Environmental Policy:I really enjoyed this class even though it was much different than what I had expected. My interest in this topic of environmental policies has grown and although I don't think I'll be starting my own activist campaign anytime soon, it's great that I have more of an idea on how I would go about doing it. Thanks for everything.Thank you for a great semester Professor Moore, this class made me more comfortable talking in class and I learned a lot through the discussions. This course was my favourite during the semester. Thanks!I don't think I've ever taken a course quite like this one before - although I was skeptical at first of how feasible "taking action" around campus or on a national scale could really be, I found that the course actually guided you through understand what approaches to take if you wanted to start a green initiative! It was so informative, and the assignments were enjoyable to work on! Thanks for a great semester.I came across an interesting quote lately. "If you give me a fish you have fed me for a day. If you teach me to fish then you have fed me until the river is contaminated or the shoreline seized for development. But, if you teach me to organize then whatever the challenge I can join together with my peers and we can fashion our own solution." I think this sums up the course pretty well.I thoroughly enjoyed this course and what we've learned. It opened my eyes on many world issues and really made me reflect upon/think about what I can do to make difference. And, to me, that equals a successful experience in this course.I LOVED this course! This is one of those classes where you walk away feeling like 1 - you learned something and 2 - you made a positive change. Thank you so much Professor Moore for a great semester!
