I analyze risk data models and collaborate with asset management teams to prioritize risk mitigation plans in electric operations.I draft, develop and support California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) data responses.

I reviewed design packages for construction, paying attention to the details yet seeing the big picture and construction feasibility. These designs include specifying backup power, such as sizing a battery or generator; assessment of the hazardous area and options to mitigate, if necessary; grounding of the natural gas station and equipment; analysis of the existing electrical equipment; National Electric Code (NEC) compliance; and more. During construction, I assisted with design or material changes that needed to be resolved in a timely manner.I created testing and start-up procedures for the standby power, which I would then test and start-up with the support of the construction crew and the vendor.I supported the creation of departmental guidelines, leading the effort to have them completed, so as to standardize the engineers' designs. I reviewed and updated arc flash models and assessments for compressor stations, and lead the arc flash program.I guided projects at the end of construction to confirm accurate records of the stations.

For 6 months, I was part of the Distribution Electric Planning department, improving the reliability of the electric network and coordinating existing protection systems with downstream protective devices.Prior to being in the distribution engineering role, I was involved in the smart grid pilot projects, creating the benchmark from other utilities' smart grid approaches. In addition, I developed a tool that evaluates the electrical devices activating SCADA communication alarms across the network.

Researched and analyzed the water system in Barcelona to identify and improve the energy usage while designing a control system for a 4-tank water system prototype using Simulink.

Prepared maps of districts of Puerto Rico for environmental impact assessments, and drafted presentations to be given by the director of the agency of Puerto Rico.
