As the Senior Paralegal, I used my skills to assist our attorneys and paralegals in the various visa application processes for our clients. From artists to executives, and immigration to real estate, I worked to ensure our clients were represented in the best manner possible. We ensured that visa applications were of the best caliber, reviewing and editing them until we created successful applications.The small firm setting provided me with excellent opportunities to interact with clients directly. It also provided a great amount of administrative responsibilities that enhanced the opportunities to learn more about the behind the scenes work, from training interns and incoming staff, to ensuring the daily functions of the office were seamlessly running.

As Senior Student Assistant, I frequently mediated class discussions and led seminars on social, cultural, and political issues. I helped with event coordination for social and community service events, while insuring that students were attending. Grading papers and leading class trips was also a core part of the position. Class management and team building skills were at the forefront of what I gained and strengthened, along with skills in public speaking and conflict resolution.

As a Gates Millennium Scholar, I take the role of ambassador for the program and reach out to high school students to ensure that they know about the benefits of the sholarship and how to apply. This also leads, indirectly, to me acting as a mentor for many of these high school students and creating relationships that help them become better writers for all types of applications.

Hispanic Scholarship Fund's NYU Chapter seeks to continue the HSF mission statement and attempts to create ways in which HSF chapter members can both give back to the community and receive aid within NYU, through service events, workshops, seminars, and mentorships. As Community Outreach Liaison, I seek to find community service opportunities and connect NYU Chapter members with high school students, parents, and administrations. I also create outreach opportunities and organize the service opportunities, ensuring that both the volunteers and those being served are benefitting at the maximum level.

The Hispanic Scholarship Fund Scholar Chapter at New York University hosts various events that disseminate information to high school students and provide them with the resources to insure success in high school and in college. HSF at NYU also hosts events for NYU students and staff to come together and explore resources (financial and academic) while also providing the means for conversations on diversity in higher education. As President, Isaac oversees the logistics of all events and works diligently to insure the success of this organization by providing biweekly e-mails, leading the e-Board, and establishing long-lasting and strong networks with other organizations and schools.
