My master's thesis was in conjunction with an ongoing project at the Center for the Blue Economy within the Middlebury Institute of International Studies at Monterey, looking into integrating local stakeholders' perspectives and opinions into the development of a White shark public awareness/information campaign. This included designing the research, stakeholder identification, quantitative surveying, interviewing and qualitative analysis.

Conducting site surveys for the Tiny Forests Project in parks around Glasgow and Edinburgh. This included nutrient testing, recording soil characteristics (colour, texture, etc.), sketching the site, and recording local tree species.

Working on a marine life survey of the Bar Al Hikman peninsula in Oman. This survey was for part of a report for the Oman Ministry of Agriculture, Fisheries and Water Resources for a potential shrimp farm on the peninsula.The work mainly focused on SCUBA diving to collect data at a variety of sites: coral reefs, soft bottom, fast current channels. As well as identification of all organisms to their most specific classification possible from morphology.Diving in a very rural location hours away form a decompression chamber while working with weights and long lengths of rope required good foreplaning, team work, and time management to meet targets while not endangering ourselves. I also gained experience driving 4x4 vehicles off road/through the desert, and some boat and engine maintenance.

Editing lecture transcripts for the Diploma in Tropical Medicine & Hygiene at the University of Glasgow.

5 week volunteer placement with the Atlantic Whale and Dolphin Foundation. I assisted in setting up a long term study investigating the factors affecting microplastic concentration on beaches in Tenerife, as well as assisting in data collection for cetacean behaviour studies (including fin ID and hydrophonics), helping renovation/build a farm, and helping with other science communication and entrepreneurship projects.

Research Assistant and head of publicity for the Thailand expedition focusing on research around the impacts of tourism on coral reef ecology. To fund this project I have taken in a leading role in organising and running multiple fundraising events including a masquerade ball that raised over £1000 for the expedition. As well as writing many successful grant applicationsunfortunately due to the COVID-19 pandemic this expedition had to cancelled despite our best efforts
