Occupational Health And Safety Supervisor
Current-Assists the Manager, Health and Safety in the development, implementation and monitoring of Corporate Health and Safety programs, policies, and training.-Supports the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee (JOHSC), Senior Management, Supervisors and all members in regards to compliance with Occupational Health and Safety programs, PRP directives and procedures.-Monitors Occupational Health and Safety program compliance, and reports results to Management and the Joint Occupational Health and Safety Committee.-Conducts risk assessments to determine the presence of hazardous conditions, including chemical exposure, mold, indoor air quality, light levels, confined spaces, noise and lead exposures, etc. and recommends and develops corrective actions and safe work procedures as required.-Oversees and monitors the Workplace Inspection Program to ensure compliance with the Terms of Reference and the Ministry of Labour Multi-Workplace JOHSC order.-Oversees the Incident Investigation Program by conducting accident investigations in collaboration with supervisors/ managers and the JOHSC. Reviews data to determine root accident causes, trends and makes recommendations for corrective actions. Leads incident debriefs and follows up on corrective action completion. Communicates/disseminates information to appropriate workplace parties including the JOHSC and PRPA as required.-Supervises the daily and weekly activities of professional and administrative staff providing for staff development and training, establishing performance standards and conducting performance evaluations, and taking responsibility for team results.-Reviews Peel Regional Police Health, Safety and Fire Emergency programs on a continual basis. Monitors legislative requirements and changes and reviews best practices in the industry to ensure legislative compliance.-Oversees the Peel Regional Police Fire Evacuation Plan.
