I provide strategic advice and I implement communications, events and marketing activities, in line with AFAC’s strategic direction. I am responsible for leading and managing a shared service delivery team to ensure communications and events are delivered to a high standard and within deadlines. Central to my role is managing priorities, relationship management and engagement with internal and external stakeholders.

I have overall accountability for the smooth operational delivery of the Financial Review’s Events and Lists portfolios, including venue, registration, AV, editorial integrations, webcast and technology platforms. I manage a team of event managers ensuring the tasks across all projects are completed on time and to a high standard, as well as keeping the event under budget and reducing operational costs where needed.

Antarctica

I project managed an expedition of 100 Australian Entrepreneurs to Antarctica. The job scope involved the responsibility of all logistics in organising a conference on a charted cruise ship for ten days, participant liaison, and coordination of expeditions and experiences with the aim to ignite the Entrepreneurial Spirit.It was a very challenging experience. I was the only employee fluent in Portuguese, which made possible to take a new event to Mozambique in Africa. This event was the first Coal Conference in the country attracting more than 250 delegates. The Event Manager liaises closely with the Conference Manager/Producer for each event, which is allocated by the Operations Manager. Event Managers participates in weekly meeting with the Operations Manager to discuss their events and workload.The EM's role is all about being extremely organised.
