Responsible for a portfolio of clients generating annual assurance fees of approximately £450k and jointly responsible for a client generating annual assurance fees of approximately £400k. My clients turnover ranged from £5m to £2bn and included family owned businesses, subsidiaries of overseas listed parents and PE backed entities (both single entity and consolidated financial statements) under both IFRS and UK GAAP.Work undertaken included statutory audit, Sarbanes-Oxley controls testing, interim and year end group reporting. Sectors varied from retailers, paper producers, food suppliers, pharmaceutical distributors and information technology providers. Assessment of accounting issues included Business Combinations, Revenue Recognition, Share Based Payments, Pensions and Long Term Contracts under both UK GAAP and IFRS.

The assurance experience gained was varied and involved audits on both large and small companies. The largest being a group of companies headed by a fully listed Plc, with a consolidated turnover of over £55 million.My taxation experience included the completion of corporation tax returns and capital gains computations. In addition, I was requested to aid groundwork on clients who were being investigated by the Inland Revenue. My VAT experience included the completion of VAT returns and the audit of VAT transactions. I was also responsible for deferred tax computations.
