I have always had a special interest in working with animals, particularly horses. As a member of Equine 4-H, a competitor in junior rodeo and High School Equestrian competitions, and a volunteer for my local equine and rodeo clubs, I developed significant knowledge of horses. I also taught horse lessons in order to share my passion and knowledge with others. My eyes were opened to how people in different countries view and treat animals when I traveled with my Agricultural Team to Guatemala to help the local veterinarian there administer vaccinations. My love for horses and livestock is what helped me choose my long term career goal of opening my own ranch someday. I love using my talents and gifts to help animals. I work extremely hard for my grades and understand the values of determination, goal setting and diligence. I have learned to stay focused even when it takes personal sacrifice. Because I have other passions, like working with animals and competing in rodeo events, I rarely spend time doing what many of my friends do on weekends. I save my time for what is important to me.
