With Brexit we had a massive increase in the number of import and export clearances that were required.I had to set up and train a department of 14 people to complete import certification for fruit, vegetables and plants. From scratch I set up the systems that enabled us to complete these notifications faster and cheaper than our competitors.I was tasked with heading up the export trailer work, while also helping out with import clearances. We also have a lot of plant imports that required high risk notifications, which I am tasked with handling.With the increase of work we had to increase the number of employees. We employed a lot of new staff to work from home. I would help out with delivering and installing the computer hardware into peoples homes.

Worked on a large contract exporting 20 containers a week of sugar to Europe. I had to chase up the haulier every morning to make sure our collections were running on time, and book these large shipments directly with the shipping line.I also dealt with customers moving their cars around the world. This could be due to customers moving house, taking their car on holiday or buying a special car abroad. Every customer had a unique set of circumstances which required us to be as flexible as possible to meet their needs. This was a door to door service, so I had to deal with shipping lines, drivers and customers directly.

As an import clerk I worked with a team of 6 people doing import customs clearance for people relocating countries.

my main responsibility was to set up computers and installing programs for different offices around the country. I also helped out employees with technical difficulties and giving advice on improving the performance of their computers.

I have enjoyed working as a volunteer in a group at Landguard Fort in Felixstowe. Where my duties included helping out in the ticket office serving customers as well as general maintenance at the fort, finding solutions to problems such as leaking ceilings and working as a team to replace sand bags
