As the first backend engineering hire I worked closely with leadership, product and engineering colleagues to deliver a robust platform for our first consumer credit card product at a very high velocity. I took the lead in building components of a rewards platform and two consumer credit card products that served thousands of customers and processed hundreds of thousands of transactions daily.

Software engineer focusing on all things related to membership. Specifically building backend services for new membership products and features, and sustaining current ones. We build scalable and fault tolerant services primarily in Java.

In my role as a software engineer at Advance I worked closely with product and project managers, vendors and engineers across domains to build applications in Python, Django and Flask on Amazon Web Services. I built applications that generate article feeds for news outlets, synchronize user accounts across many vendors and services, and provide list subscription and reporting services. I built an application that synchronized user entitlements to power a metered paywall.

As a member of the firmware team I was responsible for new and sustaining development of firmware for optical line cards, switches and software for functional test stations. On several projects I worked directly with product line managers to develop projects from requirements to delivery.* Developed custom c API for optical switch to support customer provided specifications.* Wrote low level device drivers in c for discrete components on ARM based optical line cards.* Improved reliability of ARM based optical line cards by developing profiling and monitoring tools on Linux OS.* Designed and developed functional test station software for manufacturing environment in C, Python and TCL using NI LabVIEW in Windows environment.* Designed and developed web based UI for optical line card provisioning and control in Javascript using AngularJS.

As a software engineer at Veeco I worked closely with a small group of local developers and a large group of off-shore programmers. My primary responsibilities were to improve reliability and performance of control software for large scale MOCVD tools. My main contributions were the design and implementation of a web based user interface, and a blackbox log recorder for capturing critical events with very low latency. The web interface was written in c++ using Wt Web Toolkit. It provided control functions and real time status, and improved performance by completely decoupling the user interface from critical control operations. The blackbox recorder provided a fast in-memory logging mechanism and interface for synchronizing messages to disk. It was developed in c++ using Boost libraries. *Improved control systems performance by developing web-based operator administration application.*Designed and developed black box recording and logging system for MOCVD control system.*Analyzed memory dumps and log files to develop software solutions for customer issues.*Designed and developed utility which automates configuration of MOCVD system.

My role as a software engineer included the low level design and implementation of firmware components for high speed telecommunications equipment written in c++. During my time at FNC I worked independently and in small groups, and communicated directly hardware and QA engineers. Although my primary role was development I was occasionally tasked with troubleshooting issued raised by QA during integration testing. Development was done in Unix environment with software such as Clearcase and Singlestep, and custom tools written in bash and TCL. The development process was highly collaborative and involved extensive unit, integration and regression testing.* Designed and developed software implementation for pointer processor on OC192 interface card for Flashwave 4100ES Micro Packet Optical Networking Platform.* Contributed to initial planning and design of software implementation for DS3 interface card for Flashwave 4100ES Micro Packet Optical Networking Platform.* Designed and developed software implementation for PRBS test signal generation and detection for high capacity network access card for Flashwave CDS Micro Packet Optical Networking Platform.* Contributed to the release cycle of multiple projects by designing and executing stress and integration tests, and finding and fixing bugs.
