Through my position as… Show more Achievements: - Successfully applied and received a $5,000 grant from the New Mexico Women's Organization to fund a female juvenile delinquent mentoring program.- Spearheaded collaboration between faculty from the Criminal Justice and Communications departments at New Mexico State University to file a joint application for an OJJDP grant. - Fostered communication between YRRC and multiple funding organizations on a local, state, and federal level. Through my position as program coordinator, I work in collaboration with the Juvenile Drug Court, Juvenile Citation Program, and Family and Youth, Inc to improve the lives of juvenile, "at-risk" females in Dona Ana County, New Mexico. The collaboration with these agencies includes connecting the agencies with enthusiastic, educated female mentors to act as positive role models for youth. Further duties include writing grants with the purpose of obtaining funds for activities and payroll, as well as staying in contact with mentors throughout their youth partnership to assess the effectiveness of the pairing.
