With the Kiewit Infrastructure Engineering team, I was an active member of the Foundations Estimating group, contributing to many aspects of the day-to-day routine. I participated in weekly task force meetings, project kick-off meetings, as well as management reviews. I also performed quantity take-off's on large plan sets and helped the lead estimators with uploading into estimating software, coming up with man-hour factors, crew sizes, and equipment options.

I performed a variety of engineering related tasks in both the office and in field. I was the construction observer on the last year of three-year project involving the construction of concrete sidewalks for a northern Michigan community. The work involved observing and recording pay items, verifying compliance with project plans and specifications, solving field related issues, and performing pavement grading as required to ensure compliance with individual site constraints. Furthermore, I handled property owner complaints and communicated directly with both company and community engineering staff. Other work included the witness and documentation of reinforcement for concrete construction, retaining wall construction, deep foundation piling, pile testing, soil resistivity testing, vibration monitoring, documentation, and reporting. Worked directly with principal engineer for the company while assisting other engineering and design staff.
