My unique role within Celerity Biosciences as a project manager requires the interpersonal communication and organizational skills to plan, control and execute the work of a team to achieve specified project goals and success criteria within the timeline agreed upon between Celerity and our clients. As a digital image analysis specialist my responsibilities include communicating analysis project needs from clients to pathologists, analysis software troubleshooting, support, data organization, and data quality assurance.

As a research specialist at CBI, I had a wide range of responsibilities that require scientific expertise, strategic and experimental planning and excellent communication. I am a technical expert, with proficiency in sample processing, sectioning and sample analysis using a variety of techniques in light microscopy (both widefield and confocal.) In addition, I facilitate independent usage of aforementioned microscopes by collaborators, design individual action plans with fellow researchers with the goal of advancing their work in the most effective and efficient manner, and adapt action plans to fit the ever-changing technological landscape in research.

During my time in this laboratory I presented a poster at the University of Pittsburgh Cancer Institute 22nd annual scientific retreat, was responsible for setting up and maintaining at least 3 – 5 experiments at a time, set up, initiation and completion of Western Blot assays, and managed a tissue culture lab.

I performed various tasks including but not limited to training new hires and taking inventory.

During this time I worked with mouse stem cells and ovarian cancer cells performing tissue culture and experimentation.

I resolved daily customer needs and was assigned tasks such as making photocopies and organizing stock.
