Worked directly with Dr. Mark Pauly doing market research on behalf of Spark Therapeutics to investigate group insurance financing of expensive treatments for rare diseases to advise the company on the feasibility of coverage for Luxturna and co-author white paper titled “Group Insurance Financing of Expensive Gene Therapies For Rare Diseases”

Assisted the pilot study for a non-invasive wearable early postpartum hemorrhage detection software and hardware device. Selected patients based on study criteria, consented patients, managed watch changes, and monitored incoming data. Research cost effectives of device based on national and local prices of hemorrhage for presentation given at Leonard Davis Institute of Health Economics Establishing Cost-effective Working Groups, presenting at AWHONN annual presentation 2022. Retrospective data analysis to determine effectiveness of device and broader effects with a focus on racial disparity of postpartum hemorrhage published in JOGNN and submitted for future publication in additional journals.

Helped to create fact sheets about each birth defect in the national registry as a resource for parents. Compiled support group and resource platforms for parents to be able to connect with other families and specialists dealing with the birth defect of their child.

Interned with Dr. Friedman, Director of Weill Cornell/ NY Presbyterian Center for Sport Medicine / Chief of Shoulder Surgery. First-hand observation of minimally invasive surgeries and complicated procedures specifically those of the upper extremity. Attended office hours, patient pre-/post-operative consultations; analyze post-operative results; discuss case studies and possible surgical options. Co-authored “Multiple Fractures of the Ipsilateral Upper Extremity After A Ground Level Fall: An Unusual Case” research paper submitted for publication in The European Journal of Orthopedic Surgery and Traumatology.
